Redmine Widgets - Feature #263 (Closed): allow locale/tasker to control sleep/wake state of widgethttps://css.squallline.com/issues/2632015-03-01T23:02:59ZTony Ciavarella

Hello,

I recently started to use NFC tags to activate some actions via Tasker. For example, I use a tag to toggle car mode and some settings and apps in my car.

I want to use one near my bed, to activate sleep mode and start Sleepmeter (as if I pressed the record button on the widget). Likewise, I also want to stop recording in Sleepmeter.

I found that I can set Sleepmeter to inform Tasker when it starts recording, but I can't find how to do the other way round (Tasker tell Sleepmeter to start/stop).

I know that for some apps certain actions can be achieved by sending the right Intent. For instance, Waze allows a number of intents (one can send a command with a destination and start navigating).

Can Sleepmeter recording be started/stopped by activating intents? How?

If not, can it be implemented?

Thanks in advance,

Hello - just following up on the email below. I would really like to find a way to have Sleepmeter record, stop, create holes etc. when placing the phone on and off the wireless charger, in the same way it does when I plug it in. Happy to use Tasker to do this, but as I wrote below, I dont see any "Tasks" for Sleepmeter, only "States".

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks again,
Ralph

Love the app, which I've been happily been using for the past year. Today I received a wireless charger. When I placed my Droid Maxx on it, it started charging, but the record function did not start. Is there a way to do this? I thought I'd try through tasker but I only see Sleepmeter states, not tasks (such as Start Recording). Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

Jani J. reported this via Google Play comments on Feb 23, 2013 at 6:27 AM:
Not Working.. if i push hole while sleeping, but decided not to continue sleep, so i push stop. It doesn't make hole or fix the time. I have to manually fix the sleep end time :(
Widgets - Feature #253 (Closed): add ability to toggle silent mode upon tapping widget to sleep/wakehttps://css.squallline.com/issues/2532013-02-21T23:16:31ZTony Ciavarella

The widget already allows airplane mode toggle on wake/sleep but it also might be useful to some people to toggle silent mode instead.
Widgets - Bug #246 (Closed): widget is hosed on jellybeanhttps://css.squallline.com/issues/2462012-09-28T05:20:22ZTony Ciavarella

The damn widget options thing works but the widget never appears on the home screen in jellybean flavors. Fix it!
Widgets - Feature #230 (Closed): make it much more obvious that locale/tasker integration needs t...https://css.squallline.com/issues/2302012-05-13T23:24:46ZTony Ciavarella

Lots of people get confused about the Locale/Tasker integration. They don't realize they need to turn the option on in the widget configuration. It should be made much more obvious by putting a message on the locale configuration thingy.
Widgets - Bug #229 (Closed): widget should use the content provider instead of looking into app's...https://css.squallline.com/issues/2292012-05-13T00:45:54ZTony Ciavarella

It is dangerous for the widget to look directly into the app's sleep history database because when the schema is upgraded on one but not the other, the damn database version gets downgraded and upgraded repeatedly. That really freaking sucks and makes a terrible mess of things.

Using the content provider avoids all the evils.
Widgets - Bug #212 (New): 2x1 landscape can get buttons all jumbled uphttps://css.squallline.com/issues/2122012-04-20T01:53:22ZTony Ciavarella

See attached photo. Probably should fix that.
Widgets - Bug #204 (New): somehow the damn widget seems to be able to get stuck with the "setup" ...https://css.squallline.com/issues/2042012-04-15T08:00:18ZTony Ciavarella

Perhaps there should be some kind of watchdog or something that checks for stupid widgets. At the very least, initialization and actually clicking on setup should clear this condition.
Widgets - Feature #200 (Closed): add locale/tasker integrationhttps://css.squallline.com/issues/2002012-04-08T07:04:10ZTony Ciavarella

Hi,

It would be nice if sleepmeter triggered events in such a way that it could be detected from locale or Tasker. This would allow chaining events through them.

Some examples of this would be to set juicedefender to night mode when I go to sleep.

This makes setting modes really simple..

Regards, Sami
Widgets - Feature #197 (Closed): add a 1x1 minimalistic widgethttps://css.squallline.com/issues/1972012-04-06T17:47:11ZTony Ciavarella

There seems to be a need for a minimalistic 1x1 widget. Justifiably, some people find the eyes too damn ugly.

A minimalistic 1x1 widget might simply have the app name title and a record button which switches to pause and stop buttons when pressed. No outline, no background, nothing else.

It's possible that this could be achieved by making the existing widgets more customizable by allowing parts of them to be disabled.
Widgets - Feature #191 (New): don't remain in the asleep state for more than 24 hourshttps://css.squallline.com/issues/1912012-03-17T00:57:06ZTony Ciavarella

Right now, the widget can be stuck in the asleep state until the end of time. This more than a little stupid. There should be a reasonable cut-off whereby the widget automatically goes back into awake mode. Perhaps 24 hours is a good limit.
Widgets - Bug #190 (Closed): widget configuration canned sometimes when updating the apphttps://css.squallline.com/issues/1902012-03-10T07:48:15ZTony Ciavarella

If the widget happens to get an update request during the time the sleepmeter app is being updated, it will toss its configuration and close its eyes. The following is logged in logcat:
Got an update request for widget ## but the update failed.

A retry attempt should be made when this kind of thing happens before tossing the configuration.
Sleepmeter - Feature #71 (New): add a quality vs day of the week graphhttps://css.squallline.com/issues/712011-01-11T07:19:19ZTony Ciavarella

Add a graph the plots the entered quality rating (Y axis) vs the day of the week (X axis).
Sleepmeter - Feature #59 (New): add a preference that sets when the weekly balance statistic resetshttps://css.squallline.com/issues/592010-12-30T04:49:55ZTony Ciavarella

Right now, the weekly balance statistic resets on Sunday. This most likely doesn't make sense. Users probably want a week to run Monday-Sunday but they should be allowed to choose how the statistic works.
